Best Maternity Photos of the Year
We captured so many beautiful pregnancy photos this year, and loved working in a variety of stunning locations for photos. Since we have too many great photos to sort through and pick for this blog post, we’re sharing just a few of our top favourites that stand out to us for some unique features or stories told through the photos. All of these sessions were styled by pieces from our client closet.
Sunset on a cloudy day
For this beach maternity session in South Surrey in late September, we planned for some photos of this gorgeous couple along the shoreline and in the adjacent trails. Little did we know this adventurous couple would be up for taking a dip in the chilly water! We ended up capturing a sweeping view of a hazy sunset over the ocean on this cloudy day, and this couple’s spontaneity and love of the outdoors.
Peaceful Mom-to-be
The gorgeous mom from the above photo looked like a goddess, we simply have to share another favourite from their session. We can’t help but feel a sense of calm and peace when we look at this portrait, almost as if it’s capturing this mom savouring these moments in pregnancy as she patiently awaits the arrival of baby.
Belly Painted in Light
Our studio location is perfect for simple, classic photos like this black-and-white pregnancy portrait. We are not about elaborate sets or glamorous gowns here at Kim Forrester Photography, but instead style our moms with an elegant yet simple style that brings the focus to your baby bump.
First Baby to Second
How special is it that this mom and daughter duo have these photos together before their newest family member joins them? We love how these photos capture a sense of play, fun, and so much love between these two.
Viking Warrior
Have you ever seen a pregnant viking before? We have! We had the best time getting creative and capturing this mom in costume at a stunning location in Squamish. Barefoot and steady on this rocky shore, we love how fearless and strong she looks, yet gentle and nurturing with her hands on her belly. What better depiction of motherhood.
Soaking it in
We had so many mamas braving the chilly water this fall! That’s west coast women for you.. unphased by icy water even at 8 months pregnant. We loved her expression and pose here, as if she’s just soaking in and savouring every last moment of pregnancy.
