Colour
One of the differences in professional printing you’ll notice are that colours are a true match to your actual images. Basic prints from your local lab can turn out slightly warmer or cooler due to the limited colour profiles available. Shadows may appear darker in areas, or conversely the whites may be blown out. Why does it matter? If you’ve ever printed a photo from your local lab on low quality paper, one of the first things you’ll notice is smudging. Touching the photo can leave fingerprint smudges due to the paper not absorbing the ink properly. Even if handled properly without smudging, framing your photo can also be an issue with the printed photo sticking to the glass of your frame.
