Newborn Photography at Home | Vancouver & Surrey Mobile Studio

Did you know you can stay home AND have newborn photography by an experienced professional? If you’ve been following us for awhile, you’ll know that this is what makes us incredibly UNIQUE in the Lower Mainland!

Kim and our lovely amazing assistant Dani had the pleasure of working with this local family in their South Surrey townhouse. Their home had a lovely neutral, minimalist style of decor and good natural light to capture some of the more cuddly, natural moments, while also working with the baby one-on-one for those perfect curly newborn photos.

They were open to Kim’s creative vision, which unfolded as we were shooting: there were pockets of soft light by the nursery window and on the parents’ bed, and an empty wall for capturing details like baby in dad’s hands and minimal background distraction. Without a wall like this, a light or grey backdrop can easily be assembled.

Kim was able to soothe and settle baby, who woke up a couple times and needed feeding during the session (as many do), and she worked with him to photograph him in positions that he was most comfortable in, including him curling up on his back against mama.

The beanbag poser was used for some womb-like curly photos, baby looking tiny with his head rested on his hands, and this look flowed perfectly with a prop photo using a vintage wooden bucket and some wooly knit textures.
