Must-Have Books for Toddler Boys | by Felicia Bates l Vancouver, BC

If you’re looking for some ideas on holiday gifts for kids, I highly recommend books! Books are truly the gift that keeps on giving, not only do books offer an educational factor, but books are such a special way to bond with our kids and explore the world together. Let that imagination soar! Now that my home has been turned into a children’s library (literally books everywhere), I’ve come across some amazing books that I’d like to share with you. There’s always something new to discover on every page and I hope you enjoy these reads as much as we do!

Title: Here We Are: Notes For Living On Planet Earth

Author: Oliver Jeffers

Oliver Jeffers does it again with his book “Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth”, inspired by the birth of his son. This gem of a book is written from a Father’s perspective, explaining the world to his new baby boy. Not only does he Author the book, but he does all the illustrations as well and they are always so beautiful, intricate and fun! So many animals, people, and things to discover in this book it’s endless. I also love the introduction to our world, space and the planet. This is one you need in your home, it’s not only a gorgeous book but one that has so many things to talk about and discover on every page.

Title: Mighty Dads

Author: Joan Holub

This colorful, bright and vibrant book is a best-seller for a reason, it’s a sweet and amazing dedication to all the hardworking Dads out there. Full of sounds and movement this is a fun one to read together and to inspire your kids to read along too. It highlights the relationship between Fathers and children, and how Dads teach and guide us, and emphasizes what we can do together side-by-side. The illustrations are done by well known illustrator James Dean from the Pete the Cat series to boot.

Title: The Bench

Author: Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex

This book is a more recent release and it has been a popular one having been written by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex. This sweet story is about the Father and Son bond through the eyes of a Mother. It’s an easy read for a toddler to follow along and the water-color illustrations are beautiful. We even love looking at the different styles of benches in the front and back of the book, and always have fun pointing and naming the colors together. Simple, heartwarming and a great one to have in your home.
