Client Spotlight: Interview with 3x Repeat Clients
One of my favourite parts of this job is working with the same families time and time again. This beautiful family booked me for a baby photo shoot for their daughter when she was just a few months old, and again for outdoor family photos not too long after that. I was so excited to hear they were expecting their second one recently, who I was honoured to capture as a newborn in their new home in Chilliwack.
This beautiful mama kindly answered some questions around what these photos meant to her family. I hope this helps give my readers a glimpse into our client experience!
We know you’ve had three sessions with us now… what is it that brought you to Kim Forrester Photography to begin with?
Newborn photos are so important. This is a precious time in my family’s lives, so I wanted to make sure it was captured right. I really wanted to take my time and do my research. I was looking for work that was timeless and basically magazine quality. After browsing through her work on the Kim Forrester's website, it was clear to me this was the quality I was looking for. Not only that, I could tell from her blogs & instagram that she (and the two other moms who she works with) are passionate about what they do. Thats what brought us to Kim Forrester Photography, and why we have trusted them to document these milestones for our family time after time.
Why is photography important to you?
Us mothers are the picture takers… and often never in the photos. Who is capturing us becoming mothers? This is a new beautiful, purely maternal chapter for us. Photography is important to me because it really is capturing a fleeting moment; a new chapter in life, a new mother & father, and a brand new baby. I know we'll all look back on these precious times for years to come.
What has your post partum experience been like with each baby? Has this affected your decision for photographer in any way?
After my first baby, I was healing from birth, exhausted, tired from sleepless nights, and maybe alittle overwhelmed, which absolutely affected my decision choosing a photographer. Who can make this easy for me? I read on Kim Forrester’s website that they come to your home... which is amazing because even trying to get out the door at the time was an event! Also, I read that she could arrange for the hair & make up artist to come right to my home as well. I literally sipped on a coffee while they all took care of me and made me feel beautiful (which is what I really needed). After my second baby, I was feeling more experienced... but REALLY exhausted with a newborn & trying to keep up with a toddler. I knew I wanted that same experience with Kim Forrester photography.
How did you choose to display the photos from your session(s), and why (ex. fine art prints and type of layout)?
How can I have these stunning photos of our family and not order the Fine Prints? We have a staircase landing that has a very tall wall, the perfect spot to display these photos in a clean, uniform way. We get comments on it by our guests all the time!
Do you have any favourite parts of the experience with us, from booking, to shooting, to ordering images from your session?
My favourite part of the experience is definitely the final product. Their work really does speak for itself. Something needs to be said for the ease of the entirety of the experience… everything is taken care of. When you book your spot, they really do take care of everything. From showing up to your home, to booking hair & make up for you, bringing dresses to wear, even soothing your child. Not only that, they are very down to earth, calm and friendly mothers themselves… it makes for a positive experience!
